Projek57 is on the move to promote awareness for the need for greater Unity amongst Malaysians with a nationwide cycling event, the Projek57 Unity Ride.

Projek57’s cycling venture will be led by co-founders Collin Swee and Syed Sadiq Albar, who together with a team of cyclists, will travel through Malaysia from 6th August 2017 to 16th September 2017. The ride consists of 9 legs and through these travels, the cyclists hope to bring out beautiful stories from Malaysians across our nation including smaller towns and villages. The legs of the ride will also end in pit-stop locations where Projek57 will either engage youths from universities and schools in activities to promote unity, or participate in community events.

Their journey will commence on 6th August 2017 at 7am at Dataran DBKL, Kuala Lumpur, where members of the public are welcome to join the co-founders for a 7km ride around Kuala Lumpur city, in conjunction with KL Car Free Morning. The public are also invited to join Projek57 at the raising of the JalurGemilang and singing of Negaraku at 9am at DataranMerdeka, after which the Projek57 Unity Ride cyclists will flag off to the start of a 57km ride to the first pit-stop at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, where a unity themed community event with fun games and activities will be organized by Touch ‘n Go Sdn. Bhd. at The Symphony Walk, Ground Floor.

Members of the public will also be able to visit the Projek57 booth at Dataran DBKL where a fun carnival is planned from 7am to 9am, and support the project by picking up one of their tee shirts and other merchandise which display positive and meaningful messages about Malaysia. A special Unity tee-shirt has been launched and will be available. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this tee-shirt will go towards underprivileged youths.

Syed SadiqAlbar and Collin Swee shared: We want people to join us in rising above the negative vibes, and focus on what is great, wonderful and beautiful about Malaysia. We share the vision of our beloved first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, that “Our future depends on how well many different kinds of people can live and work together.” With the unity ride, we hope Malaysians will come together and share our hope that we can make a difference in our nation.

Aligned with this vision, the social enterprise looks to reach out to Malaysians across the nation through the unity ride which will cover urban and rural areas across Peninsular Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak.

Allother cycling pit-stops at universities and schools with a view to engage youths will be closed door events, except for a carnival on 12th August 2017 at UTAR Sungai Long. Members of the public are also welcome to join a dialogue on Unity at the EcoWorld Gallery at MacAlister, Penang on 13th August 2017.
